Please make checks payable to: The Lollipop Tree Nursery School. Make sure your child’s name is on the bottom of the check. If you are interested in having tuition automatically withdrawn from your bank account each month, you may fill out an ACH form (form can be found on the website) by August 1st.

A 30-day notice is required for withdrawal or change in schedule, or the next payment is due. More information about tuition is available in the Parent Handbook which is available on our website and in the school office.

DROP-OFF/PICK-UP:

Children are dropped off and picked up from the double glass doors on Elm Street (doors are down the path to the left of the church entrance). Children will enter the building on their own, we understand for some children this may take a bit of time. During inclement weather we ask that you walk your child up the stairs.

Being on time for drop-off and pick-up is very important. The drop-off for children will be completed by 8:10am. Pick-up time for the morning session is 12:00pm and pick up time for the full day session is 2:30pm. It is very important that all drop-off and pick-up times are followed. Children that arrive late will significantly disrupt our protocols for safety. We need to adhere to EEC student/teacher ratios for safety reasons. A teacher needing to leave a classroom to let a late student in would not be following EEC regulations. There is a fee of $10 if you are late picking up or dropping your child off. To avoid the late fee and to help us maintain the health and safety protocol, we offer a before and after care program.

BEFORE AND AFTER CARE PROGRAM:

Before care is available as early as 7am and after care is available until 5pm. The cost for before and after care is $8.00 per half hour. You can use this on a regular basis or as needed. Before and after care will be billed separately from tuition at the end of each month.

SCHOOL ACTIVITIES

The Lollipop Tree Nursery School has been providing developmentally appropriate education for preschool children since 1982 at this same location. We offer a music and yoga programs for the children monthly. Indoor gym is offered daily in our large auditorium to enhance gross motor skills and physical activity. We offer outdoor play weather permitting. We always leave time to explore through science experiments and play as well as working on all prekindergarten skills. We truly enhance the whole child. We do not take field trips, however, we do bring in many special guests, such as a dental hygienist, firefighters, and police officers. Parents that would like to share something about their professions or cultures that would interest the children and enrich our program are welcome.

SNACK/LUNCH:

The Lollipop Tree Nursery School is a peanut/nut free school. Please send a peanut/nut free snack for your child each day. Please label snack bags and containers with your child’s name. Your child may bring a water bottle or other drink for snack, but we will also provide water anytime. See our approved snack list for ideas. Children that come full day should bring a peanut/nut free lunch to school each day. Please label your child’s lunch box on the outside and keep their snack separate from their lunch box.

ILLNESS:

Please keep your contagious children at home. A child absent with a communicable disease must present a doctor’s note for re-admittance. Please call if your child will be absent and provide a note explaining the absence upon return to school. Children may not return to school until they are fever free for 24 hours without medication.

CLOTHING:

Play clothes are the best option for school, although we wear paint smocks when we are doing a messy activity sometimes, they still get dirty. Sneakers and rubber soled shoes are best for play inside and on the playground. If your child has recently toilet trained, please send in extra clothes. Pants that are easy to pull up and down are a great option. We keep spare clothing on hand, but a child is more comfortable in their own clothing. Please label all clothing with child’s first and last name.

SNOW DAYS:

School will be closed for snow days when all Braintree Public Schools are cancelled. The announcements will be broadcast on TV, the radio and online. Delayed openings, Kindergarten, and Pre-School cancellations do not apply to Lollipop Tree Nursery School. Check our website www.LollipopTreeKids.com and Facebook page for school closings.

OTHER INFORMATION:

Even though we do not have formal teacher/parent conferences, as the need arises, a conference may be scheduled. You may speak to your child’s teachers and arrange a time that is convenient for all parties. If needed, the directors will attend.

We want you to be aware that we have celebrations for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Valentine’s Day. Holidays such as Columbus Day, Veteran’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, and President’s Day will be remembered and observed.

We also teach the children the Pledge of Allegiance.

Individual and class pictures are taken every year, you will receive a notice in your child’s orientation packet. The dates for pictures can be found on the Lollipop Tree calendar, which is located on our website and in your child’s orientation packet.

The Lollipop Tree Nursery School offers a summer program. More information will be available in the spring.

Your input is very important to us and always welcome. Any suggestions may be brought to the attention of the director. We realize that there is always room for improvement, and we strive to be better.
